Social Return on Investment

Many people in the nonprofit sector feel that their work is not adequately documented and therefore under-valued. Practitioners, in particular, are frustrated because they lack objective, timely data on their programs and services, making it difficult to apply their scarce resources wisely. The position of Roberts Enterprise Development Fund is that much of this frustration is due in part to an absence of appropriate measures by which the value created by nonprofit organizations may be tracked, calculated, and attributed to the philanthropic and public "investments" financing those impacts.
