Education and Training Email Lists and Bulletins

A4S Success Stories
Access for Success (A4S), a HRDC-funded project to provide community organizations in Toronto and York Region with free access to shared online services, offers a monthly email Success Stories bulletin of technology news of interest to the nonprofit, education and government sectors. A4S has traditionally served the employment services community, but their network continues to expanding into all facets of community-based, social and economic development services and programs.

ACTEW-L
ACTEW, Advocates for Community-Based Training and Education for Women, is a non-profit umbrella organization representing community-based agencies across Ontario delivering employment and training services to women. ACTEW is mandated to take up the issues faced by our member agencies and the women they serve. ACTEW's website -- The Online Women�s Training Community -- brings women�s training providers together to share information and network online. Their online community features facilitated online discussions, downloadable publications, interactive events, news and resources, a database of ACTEW members and services, and the ACTEW-L email mailing list to stay connected.

Adult Education Network (AEDNET)
An international network of individuals interested in adult education. AEDNET is operated by the Adult Education Program of the Programs for Higher Education of the Abraham S. Fischler Center for the Advancement of Education at Nova Southeastern University located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. AEDNET activities include network-wide discussions and information exchanges on topics and queries, conferences and special events, of interest to adult and continuing educators. Also, a refereed electronic journal, New Horizons in Adult Education, is distributed through AEDNET.

AFRO-TECHIES
A list for technically-inclined women of African descent. Discussion topics include the World Wide Web, networking, software applications, hardware technologies, operating systems, mailing list management, programming, etc. An additional purpose of the list is to find ways to expand the experience and knowledge of Black women about technology. List members need not be technology or computer professionals but should be actively engaged in technology and interested in learning more.

Assembly for the Teaching of English Grammar (ATEG)

A list for women in business, especially Canadian women business owners. The list supports members in their efforts to get into business, find new customers, market their products/services, and network.

Canadian Centre for Disability Studies (CCDS-List)
Based at the University of Manitoba, the Canadian Centre on Disability Studies provides an email bulletin of updates on their research activities covering a wide range of disability issues, including employment, training, and education.

A Communications Disorder discussion list based in the United States.

Contact Point Bulletin | Contact Point Flash
Contact Point is a Canadian website dedicated to the professional needs of career counsellors. Their Bulletin is a quarterly on-line newsletter that keeps career and employment counsellors, career information specialists and career development practitioners up-to-date on issues that affect them. Contact Point Flash is a monthly update.

ITI-Update
The HRDC Interactive Training Inventory (ITI) is a free, online database of training courses and information. Education or training providers can register their programs, and individuals searching for training can search by a number of criteria. The ITI-Update bulletin provides periodic updates about new additions to the site, as well as the status of the project as a whole.

Studies intercultural communication.

Internet Tourbus
A "guided tour" of the internet. It's written in a casual, non-jargony style. You get a new installment each Tuesday and Thursday.
